Wash and Go Series: Battle of the Styling Products

wash and go series product reviews

We’ve been working on this series for a couple of months now, for obvious reasons I don’t want D wearing a wash and go everyday so we’ve been doing them here and there in between our regular styling routine. With each product we will provide photo’s of her hair:We have had the amazing opportunity to review a lot of products over the past year. I realized that we’ve used a lot of the products for styles, twist outs, braid outs, etc. But we haven’t shown many of them use on just straight wash and go’s and I wanted to do that.

I want to see how each of the styling products perform and stack up against each another. So, we are going to be showing you all our results by doing a series of blog posts on these wash and go’s.

  • once the product has been applied
  • after it has completely dried
  • how it looks the next morning
  • how it looked after school/a full day of play
  • day 2 (if applicable)
We will use the same process for each product and document the results so you can see how each perform.

We are excited to be working on this project and hope you all enjoy it and find it helpful when trying to select styling aids/curl defining products. Please follow along with us, leave us comments, let us know what you think about the products, which ones are your favorites and anything else you want to tell us! There may even be a few chances to win some of the products (ok, there WILL be a few giveaways throughout the series).

Here is a peak at just some of the product brands we will be putting through the Wash and Go test, some of these products we have purchased, some have been won in giveaways and some have been review items:

  • CUSH
  • Bee Mine
  • Curls of the World
  • Miss Jessie’s
  • Blended Beauty
  • It’s Perfectly Natural
  • Ouidad
  • Kinky Curly

and more!

To get us started I wanted to show you all a photo of D’s hair with no product in it what-so-ever, her hair was shampooed, conditioned and detangled, then rinsed and air dried, as Precious says her “naked hair”:
