My thoughts: I loved her the way this product worked on my girls curls, it kept them defined and frizz free for the day. I do think I even used a little bit too much this time and could use less product next time. The hair did shrink up a bit once it had completely dried, but I was pleasantly surprise by the way her hair looked when I picked her up from summer school.

I actually don’t have a photo for Day 2 and I apologize, but I did stretch out this wash and go for 3 days, the final day she rocked it in a ponytail with a Twirlyz

My thoughts:
This stuff just slid through her hair and made it feel like silk when I applied it…must be the silk powder in the ingredients, her curls were so soft, well defined and moisturized with little shrinkage.. I think the photo’s speak for themselves. If you missed it, check out yesterdays post using their Light Down and Out Styles. You can find Blended Beauty and Blended Cutie products on their website.

Scent: The smell makes me think of birthday cake

Performance and Results
As always I applied this product to clean, damp, detangled hair in small sections using my fingers. Once I detangle her hair and run a wide tooth comb through it I do not use the comb again, I only use my fingers to distribute the products from wash and go’s.

Day 3, I put her hair in a ponytail for her ball game, but not before snapping a few pics of it down and out:

My thoughts:
I love that Blended Cutie Light Down and Out is light and allows for definition and volume at the same time. Her hair stayed soft with this product, too, it did get a fuzzy after a day, but I love seeing her hair big like this.

Have you tried any products from the Blended Beauty or Blended Cutie lines? If so which ones and what did you think about them? I have just tried a few and would love to try more, but there is so much to choose from and I don’t which products to get. We will have another wash and go for you soon using another Blended Beauty product…keep watching :)

Wash and Go Series: Curls of the World Defining Gel

This wash and go was done using Curls of the World Just the Flax Defining Gel. As with each wash and go shown in this series I washed, conditioned/detangled, then applied the product by raking my fingers through D’s hair in sections and let it air dry. The cornrows had been done on dry, stretched hair prior to the wash and go on the rest of her hair.

Ingredients: Flaxseed Gel, Aloe Vera Juice, Glycerin, Rosemary Oil, Rose Essential Oil, Grapefruit Seed Extract, Potassium Sorbate (a natural preservative)

Scent: Almost no scent, very light, kind of sweet natural scent

Texture: Thick liquid, non-sticky gel

Price: $10.99 8oz

My thoughts:
I was pleased with these results, her curls were soft and well defined. Most gel give a stiff hold, are sticky and somewhat gooey, but this gel is more of a thick liquid, not sticky at all and did not make the hair stiff. Her hair stayed well moisturized throughout the duration of the day and the frizz was, for the most part, kept to a minimum. What are your thoughts? Miss Jessie’s Products: Good or Bad for Hair?

wash and go series product reviews

Continuing on with our wash and go series, we are talking about Miss Jessie’s Products today. Are they good or bad for hair? Are Miss they worth that hefty price tag?

I won two products in a giveaway a while back, the Curly Pudding and Curly ButterCreme, from the blog Baby Bella Hair. I’ve heard good and bad things about this line. I, personally, always shied away from the brand because of their prices and ingredients, but I was curious to try the products I had won, so, we used them for a wash and go.

Miss Jessie Curly Pudding

The Product:
Miss Jessie’s Curly Pudding

Ingredients: water, parafinium liquidum, glycerin, triethanolamine, fragrance, carbomer, PEG-12 dimethicone, dipropylene glycol, silk amino acids, aloe barbadensis leaf extract, avocado oil, shea butter, sweet almond oil, jojoba seed oil, macademia seed oil, oleth05, ethylhexyl methoxycinnanate, disodium EDTA, DMDM hydantion, ext. violet 2

Scent: This is the unscented version

Price: $7 2oz, $22 8oz

We also used their ButterCreme under the Curly Pudding as a moisturizer, here are the specs of it:

Miss Jessie ButterCremeIngredients: Water, Petrolatum, Glycerin, Mineral Oil, Acetylated Lanolin, Glyceryl Stearate,PEG 100 Stearate, Crambe Abyssinica Seed Oil, Wheat Germ Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Hydrolyzed Keratin, Panthenol, PEG-8 Dilaurate, Ceteareth-20, Stearyl Alcohol, Triethanolamine, Fragrance, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Disodium EDTA, DMDM Hydantoin, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Orange 4 (C1 1550), Yellow 10 (C1 47005)

Scent: Minty

Texture: Thick Cream

Performance and Results

Once her hair was washed, conditioned and detangled, I first applied the ButterCreme moisturizer, then I raked the Curly Pudding through her hair in sections then let it air dry, as I’ve do for all wash and go’s.

Day 2:
Miss Jessie's Product ReviewMiss Jessie's Product Review

My thoughts:
I was actually thrilled with her curls…just not so much with the price tag or ingredients. I was disappointed to see that Petroleum and Mineral Oil were in the top 4 on the ButterCreme’s ingredients list, I would definitely not use this as our regular moisturizer, petroleum products have never truly provided moisture for my daughters hair. There are actually several ingredients in both of these products that are on our list of ingredients to avoid. I did love the way her hair looked, the curls were soft, there wasn’t much shrinkage, no frizz but… I wouldn’t pay the asking price of these products on a regular basis to include them in our routine. I was also hoping they would keep her hair more moisturized and looking better longer than they did.

The next day she was able to rock a ponytail, there was still some great definition and her hair was super soft.

Don’t forget you can see her hair with no product in it for comparison of results.

My thoughts:
I love how the Bee Mine Curly Butter leaves her hair so incredibly soft and yet still does such a great job at defining her curls. There is obviously no stiffness or crunch to her curls with the Curly Butter. There are no flakes or residual product feel, just soft luscious curls. I love the coconut scent, it’s not too strong, but it lingers in the hair and I just love to smell of D’s hair when she has this product in it, lol and she loves her “Bee Products”, too…
