What you’ll need:
Spray bottle with water
Moisturizer (I used African Pride Moisture Intense Shea Butter Miracle Leave-In Conditioner)
Rat tail comb
Hair accessories

Easy Cornrow Design Hairstyle

How To:
Step 1: Part the hair directly down the middle of the head starting from the forehead down to the back of the head.
Step 2: Put one side of hair that has been divided into a ponytail to keep out of the way.
Step 3: Use your rat tail comb to section the hair for the cornrow {wherever you would like to start} for this style I started the part at the crown of her head and made my section down to her forehead, leaving about half-inch from forehead for the next braid.
Step 4: Take about a half-inch of hair from the hairline section, (if the hair around the hairline is too short or hairline has not grown in yet, please take larger sections to help nurture the hairline and not hurt the edges) and leave it out of the ponytail to be braided.
Step 5: Cornrow the section of hair from the crown down to the forehead, curving your cornrow into the next side where you left out the hairline section.. braid all the way down to the side burn hair.
Step 6: Once both cornrows are complete.. you can put them into the ponytails you’ve previously made and add some accessories to spice up the hairstyle!!

Mo Plaits: Two Strand Rope Twists Tutorial

Mo Plaits is back with this cute natural hairstyle consisting of medium sized boxes with two strand rope twists and beads for added flair.

two strand rope twists

What you will need to complete this hairstyle:
Rat tail comb
Water bottle
Leave in conditioner (our favorite is African Pride Shea Butter Moisture Intense or Bee Mine Deja’s Hair Milk from the natural hair care line Bee Mine which you can get online at www.beeminproducts.com and save 10% with our reader discount code COLDUTHM )
Beads or clipstwo strand rope twists

Two Strand Rope Twists

Two Strand Rope Twists How To:
Step 1: Part as small or big of sections as you would like, we decided to go with medium sized boxes.
Step 2: After you’re done parting a section, pin the rest of the hair back to make it easier to work with, and take half of the hair in one hand and half of the hair in the other hand.
Step 3: You’re going to twist both sections the same direction, and wrap them around each other the opposite direction that you twisted the hair in. For example: The twist on the right side will go clockwise and the twist on the left side will also go clockwise. When you wrap them around each other (do not let go of the twisted sections keep them twisted tightly) you will wrap them counter clockwise.
Step 4: You can put beads or hair clips on the ends for a cute and fashionable flair!
And you’re finished, now go try it.. two strand rope twists are a lot easier than ya think!!

Cornrows and Lady Gaga Hair Bows Style How To

Items needed:
Spray water bottle, rat tail comb/small toothed comb, styling gel, Topsy Tail wand (or a beader/beading tool).

Step 1 Wet hair with water and apply a generous amount of styling gel. (need cornrowing tips see our cornrowing for beginners post)
Step 2 Part hair from ear to ear, pin back the back half of hair to keep out of your way while working with the front section of hair.
Step 3 Use the end of comb, starting at the front hairline going back to the part create a straight back plait (cornrow).
Step 4 After cornrowing your design, take braids from middle of head and braid down towards ears. Use an elastic for a secure hold.
Step 5 Creating the bow!! Once the hair is secure in the elastic, take a piece of hair from ponytail and pin it out the way (this will be used for the middle part of bow). Then take half of the hair in the ponytail and wrap around your finger loosely. Take a clear elastic (or whatever color best matches the hair), apply the elastic close to the ponytail, you have created the first section of the bow!
Step 6 Repeat directions for other half of the ponytail to complete the bows.
Step 7 Take the small section of hair you pinned out the way, if you have a Topsy Tail wand you may use that…if you don’t you may use a beading tool. Stick the wand through the bow, out of, and towards the top of the head. Grab the small piece of hair, and insert it into the beading wand hoop, pull downwards. Viola… You’ve completed your VERY first hair bow!

Hairstyle Contributor Mo Plaits: Circle Cornrow Tutorial

Photobucket

Hola! Bonjour! Annyeonghaseyo! Guten Tag! Hello!!! Mo Plaits Fan Page here to shed light on not only our family life, but how we came to be!! Being a family of four has been such a blessing in itself! Starting off with the parents, my Name is Tanya and I go by Mo. Daddy is T, and our babies are Princess A (4 yrs old) and Big C (2 yrs old). While serving in the US Army I had acquired the nickname ‘MoCrib’ from a Drill Sergeant of mine. My maiden name was Morehouse, so my Drill Sergeant broke it down into Mo Crib!! This is where ‘Mo Plaits’ comes into the picture! I have always been a stylist in my eyes and having Princess A has just taken my fingers to a whole new level. We are extremely excited, and thankful nonetheless for being featured as a hairstyle contributor on Untrained Hair Mom’s blog!! You will see many styles, and how to’s for them. Please sit back and enjoy the show!!

With all our love and talent,
The Knowles Family!!
