3 Makeup Trends For 2012
Like every year, makeup artists try to cope with the latest in fashion to create a look that is distinguishable from anything that has ever been presented before. This summer, the success is achieved by bringing forth a fusion of vintage with contemporary makeup trends, as rouge, timeless lipsticks are combined with glittery eye accents of the future.
Staying updated with the latest makeup trends is all what looking trendy is about. Given below are 3 makeup trends of summer 2012 that will add the much-needed oomph to your daily outfits:
1. High Impact Lips – One of the makeup tips online for the hottest looks this summer are bold lips. Color them with deep red burgundy and scarlet but combine these shades with a clean base. Enhance your lip makeup with just eyes to which mascara and a fine line has been added on the upper lashes. This will give you the retro inspired trendy look of the season. The result is bold high impact lips while your face only just flirts with color.
If you need inspiration, try the shades that were seen at Christian Dior, Yves Saint Lauren, Jean Paul Gaultier and Donna Karan.

2. Smokey Eyes – If some preferred bold lips, then there were those who made dramatic eyes the focus of the looks. Smokey eyes were evident at almost all runways. They were the choice for designer like Rodarte, Moschio and L’Wren Scott who only showed them off with evening outfits but also demonstrated ways in which these dramatic eyes could be used with everyday daytime wear.
At the Rodarte show, smokey eyes were created with deep indigo. They had a metallic touch. This was combined with lavender lips and pearly eye shadow. This gave an overall look of sophistication that just flirted with colors.
3. Winged Liner –The cat-eye look was all over the runways of Spring 2012 and there were so many renditions of this look that you won’t have any trouble choosing the best one. This is not so difficult to achieve and you can also wear it everyday. Also known as the winged liner look, this classic makeup has been reinvented giving it a modern touch.

To get the winged liner look, draw a thick wing with your liner past your eyebrows. If you want to emphasize the look, then continue to draw till you reach the inner corner of your eyes. This will highlight the V-shape. A different take on the winged liner look has wispy wings reminiscent of the retro-look.
