Coconut Oil For Your Skin: Recipe EBook Review and Giveaway

Natural coconut walnut oil

You all know I use natural hair care products on D’s hair and that I have dabbled a little bit in making my own concoctions here and there with our essential oils for hair care and natural remedies for eczema. But I recently got the chance to read “Coconut Oil For Your Skin” by Jennifer of Hybrid Rasta Mama.  This ebook is full of awesome recipes for hair and skin. It provides a nice introduction to carrier oils and which ones are best for the various skin types. She also breaks down the physical and emotional benefits of each essential oil. Of course there are many awesome recipes in the book that I can’t wait to try more of. So, why is coconut oil incorporated in each recipe? Jennifer says:

Coconut Oil is the perfect carrier oil to use when making personal care products and toiletries. This is because coconut oil is:

  • anti-bacterial
  • anti-fungal
  • anti-inflammatory
  • anti-microbial/Infection Fighting
  • an antioxidant
  • anti-viral

This book provides recipes for:

  • Personal Hygiene Products
  • Bath Products
  • Shampoos
  • Conditioners
  • Hair Oil Treatments
  • Scalp Treatments
  • Skin Care
  • Facial Scrubs, Masks, Creams and Cleansers
  • Lip Balm Making 101

and much more.

There are 40 recipes in this ebook, all of which include coconut oil which is known for its holistic healing properties. 9. Bela says:

I’ve been using coconut oil on my daughter body and hair since she was born. She’s six now. I seem to improvise the concoctions i make. When she was smaller it was just coconut, but as her hair got longer and ‘thirstier’ I started added other oils and butters. At the mo, am into mixing coconut oil, shea butter and olive oil – usually add lavender and sometimes geranium too. I make face blends as well, using more elaborate essential oil blends, ofetn with Rose, Jasmine, Sandalewood and other luxurious oils. A D O R E! I could really do with recipes, and techniques; improvisation has its place, but when spending lots of money on raw materials, my brain is eventually catching up with my spontaneous nature and saying, ‘there’s more for you to learn here Bela, and with input from another it will be better!’. Even if i don’t win you’re give away, i think i’ll buy it as i wanna learn!!
